Nutrient Neutral has developed a methodology with Natural England for the assessment of nutrient losses from livestock yards.
Detailed assessments of farmyards are undertaken to calculate the associated nutrient losses based on livestock present, general machinery access, site characteristics, existing structures and management practices. This method is based on a sound understanding of agricultural regulations in relation to water quality, review of current academic texts and livestock production methods.
These assessments can be associated with planning applications at site or stand-alone nutrient credit schemes. They can generate a useful volume of credits for trading.
We are flexible in our approach and can provide a turnkey service for credit trading or we can just undertake the assessments.
